College of Engineering Poonjar offers the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme under the Department of Computer Applications. BCA is an undergraduate programme designed to build a strong foundation in computer applications, programming, and software development. The course covers programming languages, database systems, web technologies, computer networks, operating systems, and application development through classroom learning and laboratory practice. Students gain practical skills through projects, workshops, and industry-oriented activities, along with communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities required in the IT sector. Graduates can pursue careers in software development, IT services, system support, and application development, or continue to postgraduate programmes such as MCA.
Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with Mathematics / Computer Science / Computer Application as one of the subjects, are eligible for admission as per university and government norms. Reservation and minimum-mark criteria applicable to the programme shall be as notified for the relevant academic year.
Admission to the BCA programme is carried out through the official allotment process notified for the academic year. Candidates should follow the instructions, rank list, and option registration published by the competent admission authority.
